SINGAPORE; 20 JANUARY 2026: Caldecott Music Group (CMG), a leading Singapore-headquartered music company, today announces the appointment of Dani Deahl to Vice President of Creator Policy & Corporate Affairs. The newly created role reinforces CMG's group-wide focus on building responsibly for creators as the company continues to expand its global businesses. Deahl will also continue to serve as Head of Communications & Creator Insights at BandLab Technologies, Caldecott Music Group’s digital division focused on music creation and artist services.
Caldecott Music Group’s portfolio spans three divisions—BandLab Technologies (BandLab, ReverbNation, Cakewalk, Airbit), NME Networks (NME, Guitar.com, MusicTech) and Vista Musical Instruments (Swee Lee, Heritage Guitars, Harmony, MONO and more)—representing an expansive ecosystem that powers hundreds of millions of music creators and fans worldwide.
A longtime recording artist and advocate for musicians’ rights, Deahl brings firsthand experience and credibility to some of the most consequential issues facing the music industry today. In 2023, she played a key role in BandLab Technologies becoming the first music creation platform to endorse the Human Artistry Campaign, an international coalition of rights organisations and non-profit groups that call for the responsible use of AI in creative works. The following year, she testified in support of Illinois House Bill 4875, which was signed into law and became one of the first measures in the United States to address unauthorised AI-generated replicas of an artist’s voice and likeness.
Deahl joined BandLab Technologies in 2022 and leads the company’s global communications strategy. She has been a driving force behind BandLab’s positioning in the creator economy and its leadership on the future of music creation, including generative AI and creator rights.
Before joining BandLab, Deahl built a reputation as a leading journalist covering music technology and policy at The Verge, where her reporting was cited in US Congressional hearings and legal journals. She later led the launch of Output Mag for music software company Output, establishing the company’s global media and education platform for music creators. She is a recognised voice on creator rights and a regular speaker in leading international forums, including TEDx, SXSW, MIDEM and Reeperbahn.
“Caldecott Music Group sits at the centre of how music is created, distributed, and experienced around the world,” said Deahl. “I’m proud to take on this role at a company with that level of reach and responsibility, and to bring an artist’s perspective into a global organisation built for creators.”
“Dani brings a unique combination of strategic clarity and creator-first thinking to everything she does,” says Meng Kuok, CEO & Co-Founder of Caldecott Music Group. “She’s been instrumental in how we engage with fast-moving issues like AI and creator rights, not just as a company, but as part of broader industry conversations. This new role reflects the scope of her impact and the trust we place in her to help guide how we show up in the world, for artists, partners and the industry at large.”
