BandLab Wins People’s Voice Webby Award for Technical Achievement

SINGAPORE, APRIL 22, 2025—BandLab, the world’s leading social music creation platform, has been named a winner at the 29th Annual Webby Awards, receiving the People’s Voice Award for Technical Achievement under the Apps & Software category. The platform was also named an Honoree in Experimental & Innovation, recognizing BandLab’s bold approach to rethinking how people create music in a mobile-first world.

Selected from over 13,000 entries worldwide, BandLab was honored for putting powerful music creation tools into the hands of over 100 million users around the world. From first drafts to chart-topping hits, BandLab makes it easy for anyone with a phone to create, collaborate, connect with other creators, and share music the moment inspiration strikes.

This recognition highlights the depth of technical innovation behind BandLab’s user experience, one that’s as powerful as it is approachable. Built for how music is made today, BandLab reflects a simple belief: creativity moves fast, and the tools should, too.

“This award belongs to every creator who’s picked up their phone, opened BandLab, and made something that matters to them,” said Meng Ru Kuok, CEO & Co-Founder of BandLab. “We’re building tools that are reshaping music today: accessible, powerful, and in service to creators everywhere. Recognition like this reminds us that thoughtful technology can open doors, not just for a few, but for anyone who wants to musically express themselves.”

BandLab will be honored at the 29th Annual Webby Awards in New York City on May 12th, alongside this year’s other category winners including Taylor Swift, Laufey, Kendrick Lamar, A24, Nike, and Apple. Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the Webby Awards are widely regarded as the leading international award celebrating excellence on the internet.
